iTunes Festival Live on MySpace

MySpace partnered with iTunes to provide live streaming of the iTunes Festival featuring 2 bands a night every night in July across multiple areas of the site. Project requirements were to create a hub to feature the Live content as well as featuring all of the content of all 62 artist in the festival. The live stream was not only played on the hub but also on the the home page of myspace.com. MySpace's video product had to be sidestepped completely in favour of QuickTime due to apples strict no flash policy. The hub page was built to update the following elements daily: page background image, default artist content, schedule updates, daily headliners, and added archive elements, the page was also programmed to rotate between "Not Live" and "Live" states on a daily basis depending on when the performances were to begin. During the live State of the profile a large video player sat overtop of the artist content and was accompanied by a live chat area, however if if a user had come to the page by a particular artists link that artist content was displayed rather than the default live stream. Individual events pages for each night were also created to maximise virality, as well as a ticket give away page. A display banner campaign was also created. This project was optimised for viewing on the iPad a product released less than a month before launch of this project. The time between first word of this project and launch was 24 days (including weekends) and every second of that was required!
